Happy 8th Birthday Michael!
Michael turned 8years old on Saturday. His wish is to have a trampoline party so that will happen once the trampoline arrives. For his actual birthday he went with his friend Sam to the Massanutten water park all day and they had a great time. We surprised him when he got home with pizza, ice cream cake and gifts then they had a sleepover (Matthew stayed over at a friends house). He got a Cadoo game, pokemon cards, Transformers voice translator mask, foam kick rocket, a sleeping bag plus money from the grandparents. Hard to believe he is 8years old!
Michael is more of a golfer than a fisherman, you know...
Michael was bored with the extreme rigor of fishing after a couple of days (i.e. Matthew was obsessed and fished for 14hrs one day) and decided to go golfing with Daddy, Grandpa and Uncle John. Apparently, he was the "best golfer" and beat all of him. Watch out PGA the next star may just be Michael "The Doctor" Donaldson.
How to skin a catfish?
Matthew was fisherman extraordinare and spent the majority of his time fishing. We tried trolling behind the paddle boat, fishing out in the big lake and ended up with the best luck off the end of the dock. His mission was to catch a big catfish and he did just that. The bait of choice was Baci's ham. After catching 4 keepers we had to learn how to skin them so we could eat them. Fortunately, Uncle John was to the rescue. He killed them, skinned them and created great fillets. Matthew got stung by the barb of the catchfish and mom cooked them up. It was quite the experience.

sleeping outside
I remember when we visitied the Stan Huett museum in Ohio a couple of years ago that one of the things Mr. Huett did for his health was sleep outside on his sleeping porch. Well, here we are sleeping outside on our deck with the boys. It was so much fun and we could see every star. I think the diversion helped our health as well.
